19 September 2016…Chairman of the Peel Development Commission, Paul Fitzpatrick, has announced the appointment of Andrew Ward to the position of Chief Executive Officer of the organisation effective from 19th September 2016.

Andrew arrives at the Peel Development Commission with over 20 years’ experience in community services and administration management, bringing a wealth of experience, knowledge and a proven ability to lead and develop multidimensional teams.”
With metropolitan and regional senior management experience in the local government environment, Andrew Ward previously held the position of Director at the City of Karratha overseeing a number of departments including Finance, Community and Economic Development, Industry Partnerships, Recreation Facilities and Community Services.
As Director he administered an organisational budget of $133m and managed some 90 staff focusing on the social and sustainability challenges created by recent population growth, nature of regional workforce operations and community amenity / infrastructure projects within the region.
Andrew enjoys active involvement in community groups and has previously been a board member for local schools and organisations. He is relocating his family (wife and three school-aged children) to Mandurah and settling in the region.
“As well as the delivery of Transform Peel, I’m looking forward to working closely with regional leaders, our stakeholders, and the wider community to coordinate and promote economic and social development within the Peel region. The Commission has many business cases under development and we will continue to explore future projects and opportunities that will benefit our region,” said Mr Ward.
