Business Support

Activities include:

  • Working with business, industry and government to ensure the conditions are in place for business growth, eg infrastructure;
  • Developing strategies to address skills shortages and reduce unemployment;
  • Identifying industry gaps and working with partners to promote investment;
  • Providing specific Regional business and industry information, including assisting businesses to relocate or expand within the Peel Region;
  • Promoting Peel’s business capabilities; and
  • Advocating the Region's interests to all levels of government.

Community Support

Activities include:

  • Linking people with services and information;
  • Providing expertise to champion projects that support business and industry growth; and
  • Identifying priorities and facilitating solutions.

Planning and Problem Solving

Activities include:

  • Facilitating collaboration between all levels of government, industry and community to deliver sustainable infrastructure for the Region; and
  • Identifying regional priorities in the short, medium and long term, and working in partnership to support the delivery of these priorities.

Advice to Government

  • Provide advice to Government on regional issues and priorities.

Grants

  • As Royalties for Regions funding becomes available the Commission offers Grants through the Peel Region Grants Scheme for projects of benefit to the economic, social or environmental interests of the community.
