The Peel Development Commission’s Top 10 Priorities for 2006/07
- Construct new Perth Bunbury Highway as a continuous build
- Provision of suitably zoned light and general industrial land in the Peel Region
- Develop and assist infrastructure needs for Boddington and surrounding areas associated with the proposed Boddington Gold Mine recommissioning
- Expand the Forest Heritage Centre to maximise its ability to move toward greater self-funding, increase its student places and ensure it continues to operate as a centre of excellence in training
- Expand mental health services in the Peel Region
- Implement the Water Quality Improvement Plan, including development of a governance model for management of the health of Peel's waterways and catchment areas
- The provision of a 3-day counselling service for children and young people affected by sexual assault, sexual abuse and family violence
- Improve training and education access to meet critical skills shortages in the Peel Region
- Improve water services to rapidly-growing parts of the Region including Jarrahdale and Waroona
- Provide an integrated transport system linking Mandurah Transit Station to the CBD providing a solid basis for Regional tourism transportation
