Project investment is an important aspect of the Region’s economic growth and development.  Total value of project investment has grown significantly over the past five years, from $1.54 billion in December quarter 2003, to $5.46 billion in December quarter 2008.

Major projects currently under construction or consideration include the New Perth Bunbury Hwy, the expansion of the Boddington Gold Mine and the ‘Port Bouvard’ Marriott Hotel.  The redevelopment of the former Peninsula hotel site is now complete.  The new 4.5 star Sebel Hotel Mandurah opened in June, the development also includes a retail outlet and residential apartments.
