Project investment is an important aspect of the Region’s economic growth and development.  Total value of project investment has grown significantly over the past five years, from $1.1 billion in December quarter 2002, to $4.4billion in March quarter 2008.

Major projects currently under construction or consideration include the New Perth Bunbury Hwy, the expansion of the Boddington Gold Mine, the redevelopment of the former Peninsular Hotel, the development of a new shopping centre in Pinjarra, the ‘Port Bourvard’ Mariot Hotel, and the Wagerup alumina refinery expansion
